Beacon of Strength in Challenging Times

By: Eran Glazer

Fifteen years ago, the National Leadership Center (NLC) in Ariel was born from Heather Johnston's vision: to develop leadership in Israel, reconnect with roots, and foster faith. Today, that vision shines brighter than ever as the NLC stands as a source of strength during one of Israel's most challenging years.

A Nation in Healing

In the aftermath of the devastating war imposed on Israel, the NLC has become part of the healing process for a nation grappling with trauma. Despite the chaos, the center has remained steadfast, offering critical support to the most vulnerable.

  • Parent-Teen Program: Groups of orphans and widows, many directly affected by the war, found a haven of healing at the NLC. This program created a safe space for emotional connection, offering support that words alone cannot express.

  • Support for Soldiers: Soldiers—both active and reserve—found empowerment and resilience through activities designed to equip them with tools to navigate their immense challenges. Whether heading to the front lines or reuniting with family, the NLC provided them with strength and solidarity.

Unwavering Commitment

Throughout the conflict, the National Leadership Center has remained a steadfast pillar for the community and the military. Its dedication to fostering leadership and resilience has had a profound impact on those it serves, continuing to fulfill its mission of strengthening Israel through faith and connection.

As we reflect on this year, let us celebrate the vital work of the NLC and its role as a beacon of hope, healing, and leadership for a nation in need.
